Fun in the Sun at Golden Ears Park for Brynn and Myles’ Engagement Shoot

I had the pleasure of working with Brynn during a previous photoshoot and she was a delight. So I was excited when she and her fiance Myles reached out to book me for wedding photography, as well as Brynn’s bridal makeup and hair.

For their engagement shoot, they wanted to revisit Golden Ears Provincial Park, a favourite camping spot from Myles’ childhood where he and Brynn went on some of their first dates. They’re both very outdoorsy and wanted to take photos in nature, which was right up my alley.

Because I shoot weddings with my husband Sean for maximum coverage on the day, I brought him along so we could all get to know each other. We ended up having a fantastic day in the sunshine!

Fortunately the weather was perfect when the four of us met up in the park. We found a path through the forest to Alouette Lake, taking cute pictures of the happy couple as we went. The natural light through the trees gave everything a magical glow - perfect for the film-like quality I wanted to achieve.

When we got to the shore of the lake, that’s when we really started to have some fun. For someone who says they hate having their photo taken, Myles is really photogenic! He really got into the spirit along with Brynn and was game for trying every new suggestion I shouted out.

At one point I gave Myles a prompt to steal Brynn’s hat, and Myles really went for it. The result was some of my favourite photos from the session that really captured the silly goose times we were having!

None of us could stop smiling as we went from location to location around the lake, with Sean and I finding new angles to shoot from. Brynn and Myles even yelled out a couple of suggestions and didn’t hesitate to duck through some bushes to a little inlet that made for another great backdrop.

Near the end of the afternoon, we found a bridge near the lake that I HAD to take advantage of. As Sean said, “Lindsay loves a bridge!” (It’s true I do.)

Later that day, after I sent some preview images, Brynn DMed me: “We had such an amazing time today and I’m already obsessed with the sneak peek!” She and Myles loved the full gallery too.
