Steveston Elopement - Makeup, Hair & Photography for an Intimate Wedding

This March we had the absolute pleasure of documenting Sally and Aaron’s intimate elopement in Steveston, BC. They celebrated their wedding day with both of their parents and Sally’s sister, as they tied the knot in the kitchen of Sally’s family home.

Sally also asked me to do her bridal makeup and hair! She requested a lifted updo with face framing pieces and cascading tendrils down the back. For makeup, she asked for shimmery pink toned eye makeup, glowy pink blush and foundation with a matte finish.

While I was finishing with Sally’s wedding day makeup and hair, my husband Sean was busy capturing the getting ready photos of us. He was also able to shoot some really lovely moments of the family and wedding day details while we finished getting ready.

I also did makeup and hair for the mother of the bride and bridesmaid, Sally’s mom and sister. The gold bangles Sally is wearing in these photos are the same ones her mom wore on her wedding day.

After the sweetest kitchen ceremony I’ve ever seen, followed by a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony, we headed across the street to a lovely green space for some family portraits.

We took advantage of the (very brief) break in the rain, and headed to Garry Point Park in Steveston with the newlyweds for their bride and groom portraits.

We started our photoshoot journey at Kuno Garden, a beautiful Japanese garden at the entrance of Garry Point Park. The stone bridge and topiaries were the perfect setting for a timeless wedding portrait.

As the sky continued to clear, we headed to the beach to take wedding photos on the coastline. Garry Point Park has beautiful, unobstructed views of the ocean, perfect for our west cost bride and groom.

As our wedding day photography was coming to an end, the rain, timed perfectly, started to sprinkle. We headed to downtown Steveston to take shelter under some buildings, but eventually embraced the weather and headed back out into the rain.
